Silent Auction for Molly Moo Necklace

This week I am featuring a piece of jewelry for which all of the proceeds will go to the family of a 3-month old girl named Molly who was born with a serious heart condition. Her mother works with my boyfriend and when he told me her story I wanted to do something to help.

I am featuring this bright pink necklace named the Miss Molly Moo Necklace. I chose this bright pink because it matches the support bracelets her family has made for her, and of course it’s every little girl’s favorite color! The necklace is 18 inches in length and is made with sterling silver chain and wire, and a large pink chalcedony stone.

I am going to be conducting a silent auction for this item. If you are interested in purchasing this necklace, send an email to csalerno86@gmail.com with the subject line ‘Miss Molly Moo Necklace’ and your bid. At the end of each day I will post the highest bid. The auction will end at 8 pm on Friday, August 27th, and I will send an email to inform the highest bidder that they have won the auction. I will then post the necklace as reserved on my etsy shop, www.bijoudechat.etsy.com.

Please keep Molly and her family in your thoughts and prayers. If you would like to read her story, or provide support by signing her guestbook, here is a link to the website that her mom updates every day: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/missmollymoo

*I have attached photos of the necklace, and a photo of Molly with her mom.

New hobby/addiction...

So I was home last weekend for Mother's Day and my mom (who can pretty much do anything imaginable when it comes to hobbies/crafts/skills) was reupholstering a bench for the library. She had all this fabric out and her sewing machine was on the table. I told her I wanted to sew something, as I've been tempted to buy many bags on etsy recently (I love all the summer designs!). So the next day we booked it to Joann Fabrics and spent a good hour and a half in there. We each picked out a pattern for a bag and materials. Ok so I LOVE FABRIC. Also very fun picking out the buttons for the bags.
We cut out our material and pinned and marked everything and the next day we sewed the bag in a few hours. It came out better than I even thought it would! (I must say though reading a pattern is like reading Chinese to me, so I never would have figured it out without my interpreter - Mom!)
I can't wait to start another project. Got me thinking...another etsy shop perhaps?

Inspiration for spring/summer line

I love bright, fresh, spring colors and I'm excited to start working on new pieces for the season! Today's ridiculously warm weather has made me realize I need to get moving! Here are the first two pieces I have that I'm excited to share. Any requests for colors?? I am thinking I need to make something GREEN!
